At Talk Manage Change (TMC Psychology) our approach centres around finding simple ways to understand how complex patterns of difficulties come about, and how these can be changed.
My brand of psychological therapy focusses on building resilience by finding your strengths and supporting you into a position of better mental health and well-being.
Being human can be a wonderful experience, full of joy and connection. But it can also be overwhelming, bewildering and exhausting. I strongly believe everyone can benefit from psychological therapy at some point in their life. The very nature of being human means having a powerful brain that can be prone to worry, and a body with millennia old hardware not perfectly suited to the modern lives we lead.
We are blessed with an array of emotions and drives, but these may leave us feeling confused or conflicted, like being pulled in different directions at the same time. Our threat detection system can set of false alarms causing us to feel anxious when we are safe, and making it difficult to do the things we want to do.
It’s no wonder many of us end up repeating unhelpful behaviours inspite of our knowledge and best intentions. We get stuck in cycles that feel familiar but counterproductive, wanting to change but not knowing how to make this happen. Sometimes we need help.
At Talk Manage Change we understand the importance of treating you as an individual. You may struggle with: anxiety, low mood, OCD, overwhelming emotions, PTSD, relationship difficulties, or you might like to improve your self-esteem, confidence and overall functioning. We will work together using a tailored combination of psychological therapies including: Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Comittment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, amongst others.
The aim of psychological therapy is to unsettle existing patterns, while providing a safe and comforting relationship within which to explore new, more effective strategies, improving your ability to adapt to life’s ever-changing circumstances.
Whether you are seeing us face to face in Chiswick, or for online therapy, we will work collaboratively and holistically, taking into account systemic and cultural factors that may affect your experience.
