Our work together will be tailored to you as an individual or a family unit. I believe it is important 

to adapt the approach to fit with you, rather than the other way around. Sometimes this means integrating more than one therapeutic approach, however my main approaches include the following NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) endorsed evidence-based treatments:

    • CBT Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

CBT has been found to be successful in treating a wide range of mental health difficulties. CBT focusses on identifying and breaking ‘vicious cycles’, and experimenting with healthy alternatives.  CBT now encompasses a wide range of approaches including ‘third wave’ CBT approaches like Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

    • Systemic  
      Systemic couples/ family therapy seeks to reduce conflict and distress by improving the systems of interactions between family members (e.g. parents and children, siblings, partners), aiding communication and reducing misunderstandings regarding emotions, thoughts and actions.
    • Attachment based therapies
      Understanding your ‘relationship’ to relationships. These approaches focus on the importance of relationships in our lives, this includes the relationship you have with yourself, and others. Attachment based approaches help enable us to have healthy, sustainable and fulfilling relationships with others. Examples include Mentalisation Based Therapy and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
